ZazuArms
Specializing in precision laser engraving services for firearms, here at Zazu Arms we use Fiber Lasers to bring unique touch to custom gun work that makes your firearm a one of a kind. Fiber laser engraving is a highly precise and versatile process used to create permanent markings on a variety of materials. The firearm is placed under the laser, and the design file is loaded into the control software. The laser beam is directed onto the surface and aligned into position. It is then guided by mirrors and lenses to begin the process.
Sanding:We begin sanding the surface with progressively finer grits of sandpaper, typically starting with coarse grits (around 180 or 220) and working our way up to very fine grits (up to 2000 or higher). Each grit removes the scratches from the previous grit until the surface is smooth and with no imperfections. Proper sandinding is the most essential step to the processes for achieving a smooth, glossy Gold finish.
Polishing: Once the surface is uniformly sanded and free of scratches, We then apply a polishing compound and buff the surface using a buffing wheel to achive the ultimate mirror polished finish. A mirror finish on steel requires patience, attention to detail, and the right tools and materials.
Preperation: The surface must be thoroughly cleaned to ensure proper adhesion of the gold layer. This involves removing any dirt, grease, or oxide layers through processes such as degreasing then ultrasonic cleaning and finaly electrocleaning.
Plating: The firearm is immersed in the electrolyte bath for a specific duration of time, it must be submerged in multiple solutions prior to Gold. This process is called Electro Bath Plating. The gold ions deposit onto the steel forming a thin layer of pure Gold on its surface. Our Gold products and chemicals can be found at www.goldplating.com
Maintenance
